How about this?
The more charge it is consuming,
the absorption is more (of course), while CD is longer, duration is shorter and mana cost is higher.

Maybe reworking it as some kind of 3 second invincibility (total) with 15 sec cooldown. rather than a 30K bonus HP.

B)
- Increase it's cooldown to something like 45 seconds
- Slightly lower it's duration, something like 20 seconds
- Increase it's power
- Make it more of an SOS skill


I was thinking of that one : it would completely change the mechanics of FF, but I'm curious to propose it to you  :

Instead of flat damage reduction, my idea would consist on changing it on %dmg absorption/reflection (it should be independant of damage reduction that players got with skulls).
When the player casts it, he becomes invulnerable for 1-3sec (depending linearly of the amount of skill points invested). Then, the forcefield starts to goes off, the %dmg absorption/reflection drops down x% every second, until it reaches 0 (if there was a "fading" animation it would be even more awesome, but very very hard to do).
Let's call T the duration of this forcefield skill (from 100% damage absorption to 0%). The cooldown would be for example 3T at tier1, 2T at tier2, 1.5T at tier3.

Dont  feel that this is the skill that needs to change in the Engineers skillset, it is what makes him the "tank" character, make it the same as other absorb shields, 12-18k absorb and hes no longer more tanky and will not be as attractive to play for a safer gameplay option, since, then you might aswell go with the Necro which has an absorb, teleport and a heal that stacks with potion and is a ranged nuker or pet/minion master.

So what if Forcefield is in every build? if you go canoneer you wont have a shield, and you cant use Onslaught to leap away since that requires a melee weapon, and if you go shield and melee weapon you invest in more defensive options than if you would when you go canoneer.

What should be changes is the charge spenders, theres nothing worthy of spending charges on except for Forcefield atm, the Charge spenders are pure garbage compared to the free spammable abilities that only costs mana (Fusilade, Emberquake etc)

What was once dead, can be made into servants of death and destruction. Feast on the innocent, slaughter the weak and punish those who would stand in your way!

Good point from Miothan. But still the full charge 60k absorption every 8 seconds is too much.

We will discuss other charge spenders later on.

I agree with your point of view, but let's work FF out first.
